TIS THE SEASON FOR THE LAKETOWN WHARF HOLIDAY FESTIVAL

The resort opens its doors for a weekend celebration to raise money for Anchorage Children’s Home and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer

It may be cold and snowing up north, but along the snowy white shore of Panama City Beach it’s warm and fuzzy as we kick off the holiday season of giving; and where at the Laketown Wharf they’re celebrating with a full-weekend of entertainment, food and fun, to raise money for the Anchorage Children’s Home and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

Starting Dec. 7 at 5 p.m., the second annual Laketown Wharf Holiday Festival gets underway with the official tree lighting ceremony, followed by two days of fun for the whole family going on from noon to 10 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.

“We are thrilled to host the second annual Laketown Wharf Holiday Festival,” said Gene Murphy, general manager. “It’s going to be a great time for families to enjoy in holiday festivities while at the same time contributing to both Anchorage Children’s Home and Marking Strides Against Breast Cancer.”

Children’s activities include photos with Santa, games, crafts and a reptile show. There’ll also be tasty treats supplied by a variety of food vendors and lots of entertainment by local artists including: Travis Dean, Violet Blues, The Blisters and DJ Nick at Night.

The perennial favorite Silent Auction will feature a variety of goods and services donated by area businesses. Auctions items include but are not limited to: a Wyndham Bay Point Resort spa and golf package, art from Visual Arts Center of Northwest Florida, vacation stays at Sterling Resort properties, a photo session on the beach from Lasting Images and more.

And event goers can win a New Years Eve or Valentines Package in a raffle for $5 per entry. The overnight getaway stay in a two-bedroom/two-bathroom condominium at Laketown Wharf is valued at over $350.00.

All proceeds from the raffle, silent auction and food vendor sales will be donated to the Anchorage Children’s Home and Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.

For more information on participating in or donating to the Holiday Festival, please visit www.LaketownWharf.com or call toll-free 1-855-756-7457 or 850-563-3000.

Tropical Storm Isaac

Thursday, August 30th

Most of the effects of Isaac are ending along in the Florida Panhandle! It’s currently mostly cloudy with the sun peeking through the clouds, winds 10-15 mph, light rain.

Wednesday, August 29th 11:AM

Hurricane Isaac swung through Panama City Beach earlier this week dropping just enough rain to keep tropical landscaping looking lush for Labor Day holiday visitors to Laketown Wharf in Panama City Beach.  The area experienced a little beach erosion along Florida’s Coastlines, but the impact to holiday travelers will not be in evidence by the weekend.  The sun is already shining bright in Panama City Beach!

It’s currently sunny, winds 15-20 mph, no rain.

Updated on Tuesday, August 28th, 9AM:

Currently partly cloudy, winds 10-15 mph with minor gusts to 25, no rain. No beach erosion is expected and we are seeing none as of right now.

We should be back to beach weather in time for the Labor Day Weekend. Currently, partly cloudy, winds 15-20 mph with minor gusts to 25.  Light rain.  Minimal beach erosion is expected and we are seeing none as of right now.
